You have reached the age of a man, and are no longer a boy. If as such you continue to be negligent and slothful, if you add procrastination to procrastination, you will insensibly continue without proficiency; living and eventually dying unenlightened. Think of yourself, therefore, this instant, as worthy of and responsible for living as a man grown up; proficient, achieving something worthwhile.

Let's pick out a key word: proficient. It takes work to become proficient. It takes vision, to point yourself consistently in the same direction long enough, and with enough effort, to gain mastery.

Any why would you go above and beyond for such mastery? 
Consider the possibility the world needs your best.
